Where to Watch the Olympics in Charleston

The Olympics are upon us and we know that most of y’all no longer have cable because paying for seven different streaming services is the new cable. Luckily, many places in Charleston are showing the Olympics on their massive TVs and they have plenty of cold drinks and yummy food to keep the party going.


Uptown Social

Uptown is a destination for any sporting event, and the Olympics are no exception. They have 46+ TVs and plenty of space to enjoy downstairs or on the rooftop. They have a great selection of beer, cocktails, frozen cocktails, and they even have large format cocktails that are great for sharing with your fellow Olympic fans. If you get hungry, you can’t go wrong with any of their pizzas or the Pizza Dough Bites. 


Bay Street Biergarten

If you’re a beer drinker, Bay Street Biergarten has a huge selection of draft beers so you won’t go thirsty while watching the Olympics. They have 62 beer taps total, including the ones on the tables, so they are not joking around. They have a large indoor space and a dog-friendly patio, so it’s a great place to meet up with friends. As far as snacks go, the Freaky Taters cannot be missed. Their soft pretzel is always a crowd pleaser and their brats are one of their signature items.


The Alley

A lot of people may think the Alley is just a place to go bowling, but they have a lot of other activities going on simultaneously. They have daily food and drink specials and two 161” projector screens where you can watch the Olympics. They also have arcade games including skee-ball and mini basketball. When all the arcade games make you hungry, the loaded tots are a must and they have 10 different flavors of wings to choose from.


Charleston Sports Pub

You can pretend you’re in the Olympics at Charleston Sports Pub when you compete in their arcade games. They have plenty of TVs inside and at their outdoor bars where you can enjoy the Olympics. They have a ton of beer on tap and classic sports bar fare like loaded totchos and fried pickles. If you go on a Sunday, they have an epic brunch menu featuring giant mimosas!


Home Team BBQ

Home Team BBQ in Charleston, SC

Sports and barbecue are a classic combination for good reason. Home Team BBQ has plenty of TVs to watch the Olympics and their food will fuel you up for the whole day. Their wings are perfect to share with friends or get a whole plate just for yourself (no judgement). Wash it down with their signature Gamechanger and you’re in for a great day. They are showing the Olympics at all their locations (downtown, West Ashley, and Sullivan’s) so check them out.


1st Place Pub

1st Place Pub in Charleston, SC

1st Place is a relatively new premium sports pub on King St. They have a great selection of craft beer, cocktails, and bar food we all know and love, but with a few more upscale items added in. They offer chicken tenders, but they also offer a Philly Cheesesteak made with Prime Rib. When you go there to watch the Olympics, take advantage of their $20 beer buckets, $7 Dobel Diamonte tequila, and $5 shots of Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey.


Kickin’ Chicken

There’s just something about watching the greatest athletes in the world compete while stuffing your face with chicken nuggets and fries. Now that’s America! Kickin’ Chicken has all the elements of a great sports bar: crispy, deep fried goodies, plenty of TVs, and cold beer. The Kickin’ Nuggets are hard to beat and they have a ton of different sauces to choose from. You will feel extra athletic if you start the meal with their Bobby Fries, which are covered in ranch dressing, bacon, and cheese.


DIG in the Park

Head up to Park Circle for loaded totchos with a side of watching the Olympics. For real though their totchos come fully loaded with queso, bacon bits, shredded lettuce, and roasted jalapeño ranch dressing. They also have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating for you to enjoy the Olympics. Check out their local beers on tap, including brews from their neighbor Commonhouse Aleworks.
